His blood work came back fine yet his condition is gettin g worse.I hope we get some answers.Thank you in advance for your help.My husband is getting a spinal tap in the morning.What can he expect?
Here's some links to patient information about lumbar punctures. Your husband should read them all. Wasn't he told anything or given any written info???

i don't know how long it will take for test results. It depends on whether they do it on site, or send out.

Go to GOOGLE and type in ';spinal tap';

You will get all the info you need, from a reputable source instead of listening to someone on this site. Even if it is someone who has HAD one, each person's experience will be different. The GOOGLE site will give you many different things he MAY experience, as well explain the entire procedure to both of you.

Go into it with a positive attitude, knowing that this test will, hopefully, give you the answers you need so badly, no matter what the test consists of.

You will be in my prayers, and in the prayers of some of the others reading this.

Sincerely, Jade Wind = )
I had to get one done a year ago to make positive of my Multiple sclerosis.

I remembered it lasted about 30-45 min. Then I had to lay there for anothe 20-30 to see if the puncture sealed up ok.

Im not going to lie, it was very,very painful. But very beneficial.

Will I get another one done?.....No.

Good luck!
all I got to say is, get a specialist my friend got a spinal tap she said that the doctors missed it liked 4 when they called a specialist in the next day he go it on his first try. sucked for her
I know that they hurt quite a bit, my cousin had a couple done. But I don't think the results take that long to get back.
