Can my husband become a Us citizen thru marriage?

My husband and I have been married now for 7 years. He came to the Us when he was 2 and recieved an alien residence card (green card) to live here. When or how would he become a citizen thru marriage? Or, can he become a citizen now that we have been married for 7 years? Can my husband become a Us citizen thru marriage?
He can become a citizen regardless. You can apply for citizenship after 5 years with the green card. (3 years if the card is thru marriage) His English must be good if he has been here that long you really don't need to apply through the marriage. Can my husband become a Us citizen thru marriage?
you can no longer become citizen through marriage that was too easy .that also was a stupid thing to do why dont they do it the right way .
well if he been here since he was 2 years old why didn't he applied for his citizenship when he turn 18. why does he have to be married to get his citizen? legally he able to get that even if he have been here just for 5 years. the law stated that you have to be a u.s resident for 5 years before he/she could apply for citizenship. now back to being married for 7 years, if you are a u.s citizen, than he could apply for it. he doesn't even need to go thru all of that when he could have got since he was 18 year old
The process to becoming a citizen involves going through a background check, taking the immigration test, and taking the oath. There's also a time requirement, but he has likely met that by being here so long.

Being married does not automatically guarantee him citizenship. However, your children, being born in the United States, ARE citizens. I would expect, though, given your husband's long-time residency status and marriage to an American that becoming a citizen will be easier for him than others.

Contact Customs and Immigration Services for more information.
of course..., my dear. go to immigartion ofice and process papers for renunciation.
He cannot automatically become a citizen through marriage, but he can become a citizen after he has held a green card for five years. The fee is $330 plus $70 for fingerprints.

There will be tests to pass - one in English and one in Civics. Both are easy

You can get all the details, including materials for the test at uscis.gov

Good luck!
He could have applied for citizenship Long Time Ago....I don't know why People don't call or visit the immigration site...

Good Luck

If he has had a green card for 7 years, he's been eligible to apply for citizenship for four years.
i think he is already a citizen after 5 years of marriage.
