Can my husband collect his settlement structures?

My husband won a lawsuit for lead paint poison about 20 years ago in Boston, Massachusetts. He was a kid at the time so his mother, who was on drugs, was collecting the settlement structures through a life insurance company. Well she never received all of the money because she was on drugs and now we are trying to locate it. Can anyone help? Can my husband collect his settlement structures?
A structured settlement would be arranged through a personal injury lawyer. You could either hire a lawyer who may have access to resources to track it down or you could check for yourself in the public records office of that state and jurisdiction. Can my husband collect his settlement structures?
Call a lawyer.
It will be a matter of public record at the courthouse. You may also find info on it in the archives at the public library. Many librarian assistants will be very helpful in pointing you in the right direction and helping you with your search.
Ask other family members if they remember anything about the case-the attorney's involved, where the case was adjudicated (court), what insurance company was paying the settlement. ANYTHING as a starting point. I am guessing that his mom cannot help (no papertrail). Were there any of his caregivers (or hers) that may have some kind of info?
