Could a husband and wife working for competitors be a problem for either?

My spouse is planning to take up a job with an employer who is a direct competitor/rival to the company I work for - we're talking Yahoo! vs Google. Is this likely to be a problem for the careers for either one of us? We are both in entry level + 4 year job - first level manager roles.Could a husband and wife working for competitors be a problem for either?
It shouldn't be a problem, but it could be. It all depends on the level of maturity and trustworthyness of each partner. If there is a danger of high level trade secrets being shared, that could be a temptation that you don't need to encounter, especially if it could cause you to violate a confidentially contract and get sued. If this is the circumstance, you might want to carefully consider Murphy's law.Could a husband and wife working for competitors be a problem for either?
Also make sure both you and your wife are compliant of all company policies by reading the ';code of conduct'; document(s) thoroughly in your respective companies.
James Carville (Democrat) and Mary Matalin (Republican) seem to be able to work it out.
