My husband and I have been married for 2 years. We are having some problems and I want a divorce. I gave him his green card but he only as the temporary. I'm pretty sure you need to be married for 5 years for it to be permanent. Instead of divorcing why don't you just live at separate houses for the last 3 years. If you divorce and he doesn't get the divorce decree before his 2 year green card expires, he will be out of status and in that situation he misses to file I-751 by himself.
